FULLARTON, SA

"Nature never did betray the heart that loved her" William Wordsworth
This community garden, located in Fern Avenue, Fullarton SA, is on land leased from the City of Unley and managed by an incorporated association named Alternative 3 Inc. Within the garden, plots are leased to City of Unley residents who generally have homes that do not allow for a substantive productive garden. Preference is given to those with a low income, the unemployed and people who identify with a disability - as well as taking into consideration the length of time on the waiting list. For more information see the Membership section of this website.
'Community' is a key focus of the Fern Avenue Community Garden. This includes fostering collegiality amongst members and broader interaction with the local community.
The Fern Avenue Community Garden values the connections made with other organisations. This particularly applies to the City of Unley whose support has been invaluable from the inception of this project. The website for the City of Unley can be accessed at www.unley.sa.gov.au.
The Garden is affiliated with the City Farms and Community Garden Network (CFCGN) and Horticultural Therapy South Australia.
Additionally, the Fern Avenue Community Garden values its links with disability groups, local schools and other community gardens.
